    Kendriya Vidyalaya, NHDC, Narmada Nagar a single sectioned Project School in Bhopal Region is located on the bank of River Narmada in Khandwa District of the East Nimar area of Madhya Pradesh. It was set up in 2001 under the able guidance of Mr. C. P. S. Chandok – In charge Principal on deputation from KV Bairagarh. With a meager staff of eight members for 158 students in classes I-IX the school had made a humble beginning. The school has steadily climbed the ladder of success and sent its first batch of students for AISSE (Class X) in the year 2003 and AISSCE in the year 2004. It now hosts a staff of 30 members to cater to the educational needs of about 470 students in classes I-XII from  NHDC/NHPC/NVDA and others Under the administrative expertise and experience of the former Principal Smt. Jaishri Gupta the school has introduced Information Practices at the +2 level, updated the laboratories and enriched its library. Sports facilities have been improvised, the infrastructure has been attended to and communication with the developed world has skyrocketed with the broadband connection. Special attention to the strengthening of Primary Education has ensured a rock-solid foundation for the education of the students. Clinching the best School position in the ThinkQuest Leadership Program gave the Vidyalaya an enviable position at the National position. The Vidyalaya added another feather in its cap by obtaining the CBSE exam center status in 2009.
